LEVEL 1

Not sure where to start? Feeling intimidated? We’ve been there too! We welcome you to join our Salsa/Latin Dance Fundamentals program. This course of six 1-hour classes focuses on the basics: timing, rhythm, footwork, body movement, frame, leading/following with your body, and connection with your partner. We will also go over the basic structure of Latin music and discuss some of the differences between various salsa styles.

These progressive sessions are essential for beginners and newcomers to salsa; these would also benefit those who have enjoyed dancing at clubs but have never taken lessons.

By the end of this course, you would be able to:
• Understand the importance of timing and dancing to the music
• Maintain a firm yet responsive frame while leading / following
• Perform basic Salsa, Merengue and Bachata steps with a partner

• Incorporate hand and body transitions

• Give / receive spot and traveling turn combinations (e.g., cross body lead, right / left turns)

FEATURE: Sign up for this package and you have UNLIMITED access to repeat any or all of these six classes as many times as you require. We want all our students to have strong fundamentals and encourage students to focus on developing their muscle memory and fine tuning their leading/following skills.
